Disneyland Paris – fullfilling a childhood dream with 25#

No one is too old for fairy tales, believe in the magic..

As you can see in the title of this blog post, I fulfilled my childhood dream, with 25 years.
But the thanks goes to my best friend, who gave me the Disneyland ticket, as a Christmas present last year. So.. Thank you bestie <3, you are too great!

Day 1 at Disneyland, Paris

We woke up at 2:30AM, since Gona lived a bit far away from the Basel Euroairport and the traffic is always so bad in the early morning.

We stayed from Friday till Sunday at the
L’Elysée Val d’Europe at Disneyland Paris****

They offered us a free shuttle to Disneyland, which was perfect, they drove regularly to Disneyland and back. In front of our hotel we had a big mall and near by were lots of typical french coffee shops and bakeries.

Day 1 at Disneyland

I really must say, this trip was one of the nicest und most beautiful one. Everyone who knows me well, knows that I love Disney and that this was always on my Bucket list.
The first time when I saw the sign of Disneyland Paris, my heart jumped of joy.

In my opinon a day is enough to see the whole thing, but if you want to see the shows and all the details and visit everyshop and few restaurants or coffee shop, plan 2 days, so can be relaxed and have a stressless time.

These two were my company to Disneyland. On the left side is Arta, my bestfriends little sister. And on the right side, surprise, my best friend, Antigona.

I think you can tell how much laughter and joy there was.

Day 1 at Disneyland went by very fast, and my face even hurt from smiling the whole day. When we got back to our hotel, we did a short stop at a bakery, which was 20 meters away from the hotel, to get cake, to try. The cake was “indescriptiblement bon”!!!

So they day 1 passed by very fast, and we knocked out the second we crawled into bed.

Day 2, Paris, unexpected occur and Disneyland in the evening

We planned to visit Paris in the morning, since it was the first time for Arta. Gona and me visited Paris 8 years ago with our class for a week and saw lot of things. After visiting Paris the plan was to go to Disneyland again.

Okay, I don’t want you to think, everything was perfect. It was scary and made me think about the politics abroad a lot.
I’m sure few of you readers know, there is a protest movement in Paris because of the new government. The taxes are rising for the middle class and at the same time the taxes for wealthy people are decreasing. This is what few people told me when I asked them what is going on and why the roads are blocked, why there were so many polices in action, and they only thing everyone said was, life in Paris is like hell at the moment.
Before going to Paris I didn’t know about all this, that’s why I was taken aback when I saw all the people on the road, demonstrating for a fair politic and fair treatment.
When we went to the Eiffel tower, everything seemed okay, but then I heard something behind me and people were running towards us with yellow jackets and it wasn’t a peaceful demonstration. Arc de Triumph is totally covered with spray and quotes against the politics..

Below you see few pictures, what is happening in Paris right now.

After this, we tried to go back to our hotel, but every metro in the big city was closed. In the end the sightseeing bus drove us through the highway to another metro station which was open and helped us. The view of the city was horrible, everywhere police, everywhere people who were protesting, shouting and trying to save their friends or family from the teargas.

We somehow managed to get to the hotel, rested a bit and went to Disneyland. We waited for the light show in the rain for about 1.5 hour, but it was totally worth the rain, cold and the wait!

till the next post, have a beautiful Sunday
